Debbie and Glen Bickerstaff, longtime supporters of Long Beach State University athletics, saw the value in upgrading the Walter Pyramid locker rooms used by the men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. Those upgrades are part of a long-term plan to take the school’s athletic reputation all the way to the top of the college ranks. That is why they decided to donate $2 million toward a $6 million renovation plan that included custom lockers, lounging and study areas, and state-of-the-art equipment setups.
The upgrades, completed over the summer, get Long Beach State closer to their goals of NCAA championships and being recognized across the country as one of the ideal schools for student-athletes seeking serious basketball and volleyball players.
